HOW WE MAKE THIS HAPPEN

Step 1

Research + design a sustainable model for implementing district-wide mental health services in NYC schools.

Step 2

Apply for The David Prize + secure funding to begin formally structuring and implementing the program.

Step 3

Form a PLLC in New York State which will allow The Happiness Project to provide mental health services. Contact + work with New York City’s Office of Mental Health to secure Article 31 Accreditation and apply for additional state-based funding.

Step 4

Identify a “pilot” school interested in participating in the program. Establish a partnership with the school board and initiate consistent + timely collaboration and communication. Roll out the project during the 2025-2026 school year.

Step 5

Discover barriers during the “pilot” school year and seek supervision and support to redesign or restructure, as needed. Recruit additional mental health providers to expand the project in the 2026-2027 school year.

Continue to learn, grow, and expand The Happiness Project.
